The Canon MC-10 maintenance cartridge, otherwise known as a 'waste ink cartridge' is responsible for collecting residual ink from the printer which gathers during the printer's initial ink prime, printhead cleans and borderless printing.
Because the Canon large format printers use a wet ink system, residual ink is inevitable. The ink drains through special channels in the printer to this MC-10 maintenance cartridge, and will need changing every-so-often.
The Canon MC-10 maintenance cartridge makes disposal of your waste ink clean, safe & easy. Simply take the old cartridge out & pop the new one in! Be sure to order your replacement Canon MC-10 maintenance cartridge when your printer indicates that it is 80% full. Once the maintenance cartridge is full, your printer will not allow you to print anything until it is replaced.
